Just recovering after a Laparoscopy which I had on Tuesday 19th January for an Ovarian cyst but was told after the operation I had severe endometriosis and I would need more invasive treatment (whatever that means), I was booked in for a laparotomy so I got away lightly. Gone private now and got an appointment for Wednesday 27th January to find out more otherwise my appointment on NHS was 24th February.
The story starts from last March, I had extremely heavy periods where I would go through a tampon and pad every hour, so I went to the doctors and they referred me to the Gynaecologist and he discovered I had a polyp which they removed there and then (very painful with no anaesthetic). From this I had anaemia so I was prescribed iron tablets for three months which cleared it up. My periods were back to normal like clockwork and light. I also had some ultrasounds before the polyp was removed which found an Ovarian cyst which has now been drained and removed.
We are desperate for children and have been trying since March which was another reason for going to the doctors.
Just waiting for the outcome on Wednesday - will keep you updated.
Michelle.
